Today I’m throwing out items number 2 and 3. They weren’t hard to find. They were literally sitting on the floor begging for someone to just put them out of their misery and throw them out already since they obviously don’t serve a purpose. One of them is this chipped “decorative planting pot” (?) and the other one is part of a camera charger of sorts (I think.) It feels as if the minimalism gods gave me a free pass for Day 2: “Here’s some trash for you that you absolutely will not miss!” I don’t really have much of a story to tell about the pot but I do wonder why there are so many of them in our apartment (filler items for Day 10 and after?)
The charger… well, that’s a longer story. I’m pretty sure that it belongs to a digital camera that we purchased while on vacation in Puerto Rico. We purchased a new camera because ours got wet in an under water case that wasn’t quite working properly. Needless to say, the new camera got wet, too. I remember being so worried about being able to take pictures under water while snorkeling. How many times have I looked at the pictures that survived the water leaks? Twice, maybe, but I really don’t remember. What I do remember is getting up early, right after sunrise, and swimming with turtles in Culebra. To say that it was a magical experience would be an understatement. What wasn’t magical was spending precious vacation time trying to replace a digital camera that we didn’t need in the first place.
